Chris Cuff receives Community Service Award

The Cancer Society is very proud to acknowledge that Chris Cuff has been awarded the Hokitika Mayor’s Community Service Award for the 22 years of voluntary work she has contributed to the Cancer Society and other organisations within the district.

Chris is always available to whomever phones her; delivering and stacking wood for people, accompanying patients to hospital treatment or appointments, home visits with baking and taking people into town for a coffee.

The Cancer Society values our Volunteers and their tireless efforts in supporting local communities – Chris is a fine example of the work which is quite often unnoticed and unrecognised by the wider population.    Chris is very happy to ‘fly under the radar’ providing support to people during such a difficult time in their lives.  Her generous and kind support offered to the Hokitika and wider Westland community is greatly appreciated.
