Our season’s first Relay For Life, in Timaru last weekend, defied the wind and rain and was a wonderfully successful event. Despite the poor weather, people turned out for the event in their fancy dress costumes and plastic rain coats; a large number of survivors participated in a lovely, even if somewhat damp, opening ceremony; the food stalls and on-site fund raising offered an amazing selection of tempting goodies; the music and entertainment was excellent and the organising committee worked tirelessly across the whole weekend to ensure everything went well. Congratulations South Canterbury.
