What does Donate to Accommodate mean? This year we will provide over 800 patients with 13,000 bed nights in our Daffodil House and Daffodil Lodge facilities, and when those facilities are full we use motels close by. Our accommodation service is for those needing cancer treatment or a hospital appointment in Christchurch and we endeavour to find everyone a bed. Our facilities are designed to be a home away from home for our patients as they go through treatment.
Because cancer doesn't stop for COVID-19, patients still need treatment and a place to stay. Now we have moved to Level 1 we are seeing an increase in demand for accommodation as the catch up on cancer treatment and diagnosis starts. We now know our costs will be higher as we continue to keep people safe and our income has been significantly impacted during lockdown and throughout the alert levels.
Without the help and support of our community we simply couldn’t provide this service and we rely on donations and fundraising to allow us to continue to provide our free services.
Can you help us by donating $100 for a night's accommodation? This will mean we can continue providing this wonderful service and supporting those with cancer in our community.
1 night = $100
2 nights = $200
3 nights = $300
